Dan Vacco Named to 2002 SUNYAC All Conference First Team

Dan Vacco was recently selected to the 2002 SUNY Baseball All Conference First Team. A sophomore at Oswego State University, he is a Battery alum and 2000 Greece Olympia grad. He finished the SUNYAC with a .444 batting average, ranked fifth in the conference; he also tied for fifth in RBIs (12).

Dan, who plays second base for the Oswego Lakers, had the highest batting average on the team. He has played summer ball for the Battery ABC team for the past two years, and is looking forward to the 2002 season. He is part of the Battery family; Dan has trained year-round at the Battery and attended the winter academy since he was 10 years old.

When he is not playing baseball or working out, Dan studies Physics at Oswego and carries a 3.9/4.0 grade point average. He is a Presidential Scholar; he received the 2002 Emmet Stopher Calculus Award and a Scholar-Athlete Award from the College.
