Battery student Bryan Slekes among 1999 Division Leaders

Bryan Slekes, a former Battery student and standout at Gates Chili High School in Rochester, NY, is among Division III individual batting leaders. He ranked sixth in the nation with a .481 average.

Slekes not only led Union College and UCAA in hitting, but his .481 average established a college single-season record. He ended the year with a 14-game hitting streak.

He was Union College's Most Valuable Player, and also received the Athletic Department Prize.

Bryan attended The Battery's camps and winter baseball academy, and took individual hitting lessons since he was in little league until the end of his senior year.

Brian Slekes is another Battery success story.
