Battery players of today... are the college stars of tomorrow


Here are some updates of what is happening with Battery alumni and their careers: 

2018 Season

Jeff Albert (Bishop Kerney) was named hiitng coach of the Housotn Astros.


2015 Season

* Battery alum Stephanie Mongelli (Irondequoit) , was the only freshman player at Nazareth College and had a successful season, ending the the year with a batting average of .360 Great way to start her college softball career!

* Battery alum Brittany Grage Pittsfordf Mendon) and a senior at the Uniersity of Rochester, was named Liberty League Player of the Year. Her BA is 434, with eleven doubles, 14 home runs ( a school record) and 54 RBI. As a pitcher she went 12-4.  Congratulations, Brittany for such an excepional year.

* Battery alum Courtney Case (Pittsford Mendon) and a sophomore at LeMoybe College, was named to the All MAAC Confrence second team. She lead her team in batting average, hits, home runs and RBI.

* Battery alum Maddie Reese (Pittsford Mendon), a senior at Iowa Stqte was named 'Cyclone of the Day' after she went 3-5, with two home runs and five RBI against South Dakota State. Way to go Maddie!

Battery alum, Corey Craig, (Churchville Chili-the College at Brockport) has been named assistant varsity baseball coach at his former high school.  Congratulations, Corey!

* Battery alum Jenn Consaul (Churchville Chili-  Canisius College) will be working as a softball assistant coach at her alma matter while she pursues a master's degree. Great job, Jenn!


2014 Season

* Battery alum Alyssa Dixon (Webster Schroeder), Lexi Haley (Aquinas), Jill Kahn (Dansville) and Ryann Sullivan (Brockport) had a winning season as members of the Monroe Community College Softball team.  They won the Region III title, and placed  fifth in nationals..Good job, ladies!

* Battery alum Keith Savino (Pittsford Sutherland) received his PhD from the University of Rochester in chemical engineering. He did his undergraduate studies at Clarkson University where he majored in engineering and mathematics.  Congratulations, Dr. Savino!

* Battery alum Mike Roman (Spencerport) ended his baseball career at RIT with 94 RBI, fifth in the program's history.

* Battery alum Brittany Grage (Pittsford Mendon) and Nina Korn (Greece Athena) have been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Northeast Region First team.

* Battery alum Jake Welch (Spencerport), a junior at Notre dame of Ohio, was named to the conference first team.

* Battery alum Lia Locey (Bishop Kearney) hit a homerun in the final game of her softball career at John Carroll University.

* Battery alum Ali Van Giesen (Auburn) hit a single to score the game-tying run for Niagara University.

* Battery alum Jen Consaul (Churchville Chili) closed her collegiate career by earning two  wins to end the season at Canisius College. Great job, Jen!

* Battery alum Carly Pike (Batavia Notre Dame) went 2-3 with a two-run homerun for Nazareth College.

* Battery alum Mike Roman (Spencerport) hit an RBI single to get the win for St. John Fisher.

* Battery alum Kelsey McManus (Pittsford Mendon) went 3-4, with a two-run homerun, and scored  three runs for the Rochester Institute of Technology.

* Battery alum Brittany Grage  (Pittsford Mendon)  threw a perfect game for the University of Rochester during the Liberty League playoffs in Troy. NY. This was the first time in the university's history that a pitcher throws a perfect game.

* Battery alum Jake Welch (Spencerport HS), a junior at Notre Dame College, was named Mountain East Conference Pitcher of the Week. Good job, Jake!

* Battery alum Jeff Albert (Bishop Kearney/Butler University) has been named the minor league hitting coordinator by the Huston Astros.

2013 Season

* Battery alum Katie Pettis (Churchville Chili), a senior at Hilbert College received the Coaches' Award for 2013.

*Battery alum Brittany Grage (Pittsford Mendon),  sophomore at the University of Rochester, was named "Pitcher of the Week' for the UAA and Liberty Leagues.

 * Battery alum Jeff Albert (Bishop Kearney/Butler University) has been named the Roving Hitting Instructor for the Houston Astros organization

* Battery alum Bradley Potter (Gates Chili/Case Western) will receive on March 2nd, the National Materials Science Student of the Year Award. Sincere congratulations!

* Battery alum Jeff Allen (Hilton/St. John Fisher) is the new freshman coach at Hilton High School. Jeff received dual certification in Childhood Education and Special Education. Congrats for both good news!

2012 Season

* Battery alum and Battery ABC player Michael Jesserer got married on October 20th.  Congratulations and best wishes to you and Britt.

* Battery alum Jeff Albert stopped at The Battery in October. He lives in Jupiter, Florida, and is in his fourth year as pitching coach for the Cardinals organization.

* Battery alum Brittany Grage , a freshman at the University of Rochester, was named on May 1, University Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week.

* Battery alum Brittany Grage, a freshman at the University of Rochester, was named Pitcher of Week for Liberty 8 for the week  ending April 21.

* Battery alum Jen Consaul, a sophomore at Canisius College,was named MAAC's Pitcher of the Week ending April 21. Jen earned three wins during the week. 

* Battery alum David Mazzullo, first baseman and  senior at  SUNY Oswego, was named Eastern Collegiate Conference Upstate Hitter of the Week ending April 15. He had 8 RBI, two home runs and his batting average is .333. He was also named Athlete of the Week at SUNY Oswego.

* Battery alum Jimmy Wagner (Hilton), a freshman at Ithaca College, was named Pitcher of the Week of Empire 8.

* Battery alum Kelsey Mc Manus, a freshman at the Rochester Institute of Technology was named Athlete of the Week. She tied the school record for doubles in a game. She also hit a homerun. She is hitting .344

* Battery alum Nina Korn, a sophomore at the University of Rochester was named Player of the Week for March 11th. She went 5-8, with one RBI and two runs scored.

* Battery alum Brad Potter, a senior at Wester Case Reserve, was named University Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week on march 5th. He had an outstanding outing against Ohio Wesleyan.

* Battery alum Desirae Maldonado (Irondequoit), a freshman at Niagara Universisty,was named MAAC Freshman of the Week. She hit two doubles and played short stop error free.


2011 Season

*Battery alum Jen Consaul (Churchville Chili), a freshman pitcher at Canisius College, posted an 8-3 record for the season with a 3.30 ERA and three saves in 22 appearances

* .Battery alum Rick Guarno (Bishop Kearney) became an assistant coach at his alma matter, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, after playing seven seasons of pro baseball.

* Battery alum and U of Rochester freshman Nina Korn was named Rookie of the Year for the Liberty League. She hit .461 and lead the league in doubles.

* Battery alum and instructor Andy Parrino made his major league debut with   the San Diego Padres on August  26.

*Battery alum Jonathan Laureano (Bishop Kearney) received on July 22 his badge as officer for the Rochester City Police Department. Jon always had two loves: baseball  and law enforcement.  He received the badge from his father, retired officer Elmer Laureano.  The Battery is very proud of Jon and his commitment to public safety.

*  Battery alum Brad Potter, a junior pitcher at Case Western, was called to the mound  in relief after a seven hour rain delay. He came in with one out and players on first and third. He pitched 7 2/3 innings and earned the win at the Mideast Regionals on May 20, thus keeping CW alive.

* Battery alum Dan Erne, a sophomore pitcher at SUNY Oswego, finished his 2011 season with seven wins.  Battery alum Marc Peterson, a senior pitcher, won four games for the Lakers.

* Battery alum Dan Erne got his third win of the season against Baruch College in Long Island.

* Battery alum Dan Erne, a sophomore pitcher at SUNY Oswego got his second win of the season against Hilbert College in Ft. Pierce, FL. He pitched 9 innings striking out seven. Battery alum Marc Peterson earned the win  for Oswego against Richard Stockton College.

* Battery alum Lia Locey (Bishop Kearney), a freshman at John Carrol University, made her collegiate debut on March 8 playing three innings at 3B and hitting a line drive single that scored a run against Simmons College.

* Battery alum Trisha Pike (Batavia Notre Dame), a freshman pitcher at John Carroll University, had her college debut on March 7, and was credited with the win against De Sales University. 

* Battery's Andy Parrino called up to AAA.

* Battery alum Jen Consaul (Churchville Chili,) a freshman pitcher at Canisius College, got a save against Morehead State in South Carolina.

*  Battery alum John Bennett (Churchville Chili) had a great  start of the season for Finger Lakes Community College down South by going seven for eleven.  Battery alum Jarryl Carley (Spencerport) also had four hits.

*Battery alum Dan Erne, a sophomore pitcher at Oswego State, won his first game of the new season against St. Joseph College, striking out eight. The game, a 10-2 win for Oswego, was played in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.


2010 Season

  • Battery alum Nate Parrino  (Brockport), a senior at SUNY Brockport, hit a walk off grand slam to lead the college baseball team to a 10-6 win and advance to the SUNYAC Championship. Read more...
  • Battery alum Ryan Campbell (Brockport/RIT), a senior outfielder, captured the batting title for the Empire 8 Baseball Conference in 2010. He finished at .387 with a .450 base percentage. Ryan was selected first team all conference.
  • Battery alums Lia Locey (Bishop Kearney) and Trisha Pike (Batavia Notre Dame) have made the John Carroll University softball team.
  • Battery's Andy Parrino played in the Arizona Fall League as a member of the Peoria team. He batted .349 and had seven doubles in twenty games.

  • Battery alum Jordan Vokes (Caledonia-Mumford) was named the 2009-10 D'Youville College Male Scholar Athlete of the Year. Jordan has a perfect 4.0 GPA. He was selected captain of the baseball team; this season he had 4 home runs and 16 RBI.
  • Infielder Andy Parrino was named to the Texas League All Star Team.
  • Battery alum Jeff Albert (Bishop Kearney/Butler/RIT) is now a minor league hitting coach with the St. Louis Cardinals organization. He is also the owner of
  • Battery alum Danny Erne (Churchville Chili), a freshman pitcher at SUNY Oswego, ended the season with a 4-2 record, with a 3.43 ERA over 42 innings. In both his losses, the opposing pitcher threw a no hitter against Oswego, Dan is ranked #9 in the nation in walks allowed per inning,

  • Battery alum Corey Mee (Hilton/Notre Dame) completed his seventh season as the head baseball coach at the University of Toledo with a 32-22 record. Corey was selected 2010 MAC Coach of the Year.
  • Jeff Allen (Hilton/St. John Fisher College) is now managing a team in the Rochester ABC League.
  • Nate Parrino, recently graduated from SUNY Brockport, has been named by the American Baseball Coaches Association to the All-Region team. Nate is presently a player-coach with the ABC Battery team.
  • Nate Parrino (Brockport), a senior at SUNY Brockport, hit a walk off grand slam to lead the college baseball team to a 10-6 win and advance to the SUNYAC Championship  More...
  • Brad Potter  (Gates Chili), a sophomore pitcher at Case Western University, finished the 2010 season with a 4-1 record, plus one save.
    Academically, he received the Outstanding Sophomore Award of the Case Western School on Engineering. He carried a 4.00 GPA in his dual major, Chemical Engineering and Materials Science Engineering.
  • Ricky Guarno (Bishop Kearney) is now in his seventh season as a professional baseball player. He catches for the Calgary Vipers, in Calgary, Canada, a member of the Golden Baseball League.
  • Freshman infielder Jessica Steubing (Fairport), finished her first collegiate season at SUNY Geneseo with a .313 batting average; she had 42 hits and 16 RBI for the Blue Knights.

Coach T's strong and steady presence has always guided the Battery family and thousands of young people. We are sustained by the strength and peace of knowing he is now in God's loving hands. You are forever in our hearts and by our side.
